Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Waseda University, Japan
Professor Kiyotaka Iwasaki is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Waseda University. He received Doctor of Engineering from Waseda University in 2002. After receiving PhD, he worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, as a research scientist from 2004 to 2006. He won several prizes at International Conferences.
His research themes cover a wide-range of the Biomedical Engineering Fields for facilitating novel medical device development, investigating effective and/or safe interventional and surgical treatment, and expediting clinical translation of new findings.
He works as a committee member of Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, for “Safety Measure of Medical Device and Regenerative Medicine Products”, and “Development of Guidance for the Approval Process of Brand-new Medical Products and Regenerative Medicine Products”. He also works as a committee member of International Standard Organizations for “Effects of Blood in Medical Devices”, and “Vascular Stents”.
